About This Skill

Build Insights Logger is a Claude Code skill that automatically captures non-trivial learnings during complex coding sessions, including edge cases, architectural trade-offs, performance considerations, API design patterns, and testing strategies. It writes these insights to session files stored in the .claude/insights/ directory, keeping a structured record of discoveries as they happen. After a session, an interactive review workflow lets developers select which insights are worth preserving long-term, then transfers them to CLAUDE.md as institutional knowledge. Completed sessions can be archived for historical reference. Developers working on complex or evolving codebases benefit most, as the skill helps prevent hard-won knowledge from being lost between sessions.

How to Use

Add the marketplace to Claude Code by running `/plugin marketplace add nathanonn/claude-skill-build-insights-logger`. The `build-insights-logger` skill will then be available to install and activates automatically during complex coding sessions where institutional knowledge should be preserved. Insights are logged to `.claude/insights/` and can be reviewed interactively to select which learnings get transferred to CLAUDE.md.
