About This Skill

This skill automates the process of converting YouTube videos into NotebookLM notebooks with generated audio overviews. It extracts people mentioned in videos, researches their backgrounds via web search, and creates a notebook containing the video transcript and research documents. The skill uses screenshot-based automation to interact with NotebookLM's interface, making it ideal for researchers, podcasters, and content creators who want to transform interviews, talks, and documentaries into searchable, listenable formats. Works with Claude Desktop and requires Chrome browser with NotebookLM access.

How to Use

Enable Chrome control in Claude Desktop settings, log into NotebookLM in your browser, and install the skill following Anthropic's installation guide. Tell Claude: 'Use the notebooklm video research skill to prepare audio overview of this video: [YouTube URL]'. The skill takes 8-15 minutes total to extract the video, research speakers, create the notebook, and generate the audio overview.
