Skillsmith is a discovery, recommendation, and learning system for Claude Code skills. It helps users find, install, and learn to use skills for their projects. It connects to Claude Code and integrates with TypeScript-based workflows.
git clone https://github.com/smith-horn/skillsmith.gitSkillsmith is an agent skill discovery, recommendation, and management system designed for MCP-compatible AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf. It enables you to search skills from GitHub using semantic search or keyword matching, get personalized skill recommendations based on context, and install validated skills with a single command to your local environment. The system operates local-first by design, caching the entire skill registry in SQLite at ~/.skillsmith/skills.db with optional ONNX-based semantic search that runs on CPU without API calls. Skillsmith provides quality scores, four trust tiers from Official to Community, and side-by-side skill comparison to help you find and safely integrate the right skills for your projects.
Add the Skillsmith MCP server to your agent's settings file (Claude Code: ~/.claude/settings.json, Cursor: ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or equivalent for other tools). Include your SKILLSMITH_API_KEY from skillsmith.app/account/cli-token, then restart your agent. Your MCP client immediately has access to search, recommend, install, and compare tools.
