All data is stored in version-control-friendly Markdown format, supporting both global (~/.aissist/) and project-specific (./.aissist/) storage modes. Install globally with `npm install -g aissist`, then run `aissist init` to create local storage. Log in to Claude with `claude login` to enable AI features.
